The Mardi Gras cakes are called "king cakes".

There really aren't any French-speaking parishes in Louisiana. You probably mean the Acadian or "Cajun" region, which is located west of New Orleans and south of Lafayette. The Acadians have been in the United States for hundreds of years, and while there is a French (and French Canadian) influence to their speech, they almost exclusively speak English.

Randazzo's in New Orleans ships King Cakes to just about anywhere. They are fine! Get the cream filled one or the apple, strawberry filled ones.
