I went to R&G Brenner and they charged me a lot of money to file my taxes and I was just wondering if anyone knew what the normal cost would be to file from one state to another? Any help would be great. Thanks so much!

File a W2? I'm not sure that makes sense.

A W2 is something that an employer provided to you. You include a copy with your tax filing (e.g., 1040).

That is, unless YOU are an employer. In which case, you will file a W-2 for each employee to the SSA. The SSA charges nothing for this. You are welcome to pay someone to do this for you.

But I suspect that you are not an employer and you meant 1040 (or 1040A or 1040EZ, along with relevant schedules).

Prices vary, but if you have a simple return, you can do it yourself for free. Or with tax software for under $50. If you fit certain qualifications, both the IRS and several tax software makers let you do it for free, as well.

There isn't any cost to file either federal or state returns. But if you have someone prepare them for you, or have a paid preparer efile them for you, they can charge whatever is agreed upon between you. This is a fee that has nothing to do with the government unit.
