Hot water dries the hair and removes the hair's natural grease (not the disgusting kind). Try rinsing at lower temperatures. Also hair styling products tend to damage hair, you may want to try different styling products that nourish hair.

You will have to do a combination of treatments to your hair for a duration of time. I suggest you to take a raw egg and mix it with some extra virgin olive oil and let let it sit in your hair while your in the shower. Once you are finished, wash with a mild shampoo that doesn't contain a lot of alcohol. If you are not sure mix with some water in your hand before you apply it to your scalp. Make sure you follow up deep moisturizing conditioner. It makes your hair feel a little harder for a moment because you are putting protein back in the hair to give it strength. You condition your hair to give back the moisture that has been stripped. You oil your hair to replace natural oils lost "only in a form that is light and won't clog your pores".
Do this treatment every two weeks. Every three days use a hair mayonnaise or cholesterol treatment. I have read that coconut milk and honey is great for conditioning but I have yet to try it.
Do not blow dry your hair or applying any heat. Sleep on satin pillow cases only. Take a good multi vitamin and flax seed oil or capsules. Drink plenty of water. You may also want to carry a light spritz bottle filled with distilled water and mist it through the day.
......also try using a creamy Shea butter on the ends- use sparingly

I have the same problem. I use virgin olive oil. Use it 2-3 times a week until it starts looking healthy again, then only once a week. Get you hair wet, massage through your hair, shampoo and rinse. Also to help out get a deep conditioner, one at Wal-Mart will work, like Pantene. I also use a leave-in oil daily, too. My hair is healthy because of this and my beautician has been surprised because of the abuse I put my hair through.
Let me know how it turns out!

Although I've never tried it, my grandmother used to use Mayo in her hair...Of course you need to rinse this thoroughly, but the oil in the mayo works great on dry, brittle hair

Put in some olive oil and leave over night and then wash with a mosturizing shampoo. You should also not wash too often and try to use a hot oil treatment once a week.

wash your hair at night. put conditer in it, and do not wash it out. then sleep with your hair in a shower cap. and wash out the next morning. This is not a permant cure it just helps until your hair grows out and you will have to do it probably once a week depending on the damage.
Try it then come back and rate this answer.

Mind you I have never tried this, BUT I have heard many times that mayo is a great deep conditioner. And I completelyagree with the first answer...don't wash your hair everyday.

Use a leave-in conditioner. I use one made by Frederik Fekkai and it's the best I've ever used.
