ignore them.
that is stupid the bible doesnt say u cant live with them. it talks about premarital sex yes, but living with them no.
further, how can u tell if u wanna marry a guy if u havent even tried living with him...personally id rather live with a girl for a while, before i married her, incase shes psycho at home. people change a lot depending where they are. *shrug*

Don't worry what the bible says if you want to just do it. It's because of all the hypocrites at church that I stopped going. The bible says you can't look at another person with lust. How many people looked at another good looking person and had some kind of fantasy. The bible says you can't eat any meat with a split hoof. When was the last time you had a hamburger or pork chops. They says it doesn't count because it's from the old testament, but isn't the 10 commandments in the old testament. Plus if we all came from Adam and Eve wouldn't the bible promote Incest. Don't worry about the people at church. Live your life to make yourself happy. Be a good person and that's all that matters. In the eyes of God we are all sinners.

Try reading the book "Sex and the Supremacy of Christ" by John Piper. By living together, you will be indulging in the life reserved for married couples. There is no magic verse to share--for this is a teaching based on many many passages. Marriage is not 50%-50%, both partners contribue 100%; living together prior to marriage will make that transition from roommate to spouse difficult.

We are told to abstain from fornication (non-marital sex) and the appearance of evil in the bible:
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Even assuming you lived together without having sex, you would appear to be committing the sin of fornication by living together before you got married. So I have to agree with the people at your church. Hope this helps...

It doesn't matter if it's in "the Bible" or not. It's still one of the worst things that you can do, sprititually. Leave that to the liberals, whose programs and ideas all fail, as we know.
Jumping into a lake in the winter is not in "the Bible" either, but anyone with any brains or an ounce of sense won't do it.
Now, this is assuming that "living together" means sexually living together and that's how I've interpreted your post.

there is this situation where both persons are to be chaste( no sex before marriage) and i am not sure but it would be hard for someone to dismiss the idea that you are sleeping together
if you both are living together. it is of great importance to keep yourselves of the purist reputation, even though you and he have been faithful. it is a real hard question to answer with out sounding too pious or over religious.

I think it has a lot to do with keeping yourself from tempting situations. I mean when you're really tired, or sleepy, your inhibitions are greatly lowered.
But anyway, I suggest you forget when the members of your church are saying and just talk to your church leader (priest, bishop, pastor, whatever) about it, and see what insights they can give you.

I live in VA and I know it is a state law that you can't live together without the benefit of marriage. Kind of dumb huh. I don't actually think it is anywhere in the bible though.

tell your nosey church friends to mind their own business and if they must know all the aspects of your pre-marital life -- you are living together to cut expenses before the marriage and if they really must know you are still a virgin and are sleeping in separate bedrooms. tell them if they don't like that response then you are accepting donations to help with the expenses.
actually i think its better that people live together a little bit prior to marriage. maybe less divorce that way.

you can live together, you just ought not to have sex before you are married.
living together will only increase the temptation to have sex.
except in my case.
