how to publish a book?

Im thinking of writing a book of my theories, particularly lifestyle outline, but I dont know how to get it to the public. After I write it I know it has to be sent to an editor somewhere in the process, but what I dont know is...how much does it cost to publish and how do I get this done? If it's a healthy living book based on my personal theories do I still need medical references? And How do I advertise it? Also, what's a way to do this relatively cheap-ish, possibly even free?.........please help!!! thanks so much.

I think what I mean is publish it online too. Also, how can I advertise for, like, reaally cheap, especially online?

Why...what's the goal...

If you're goal is to sell books than guess what...don't publish a book...write articles instead because 99.999% of first books don't sell past 250 copies and any 'real' publisher is going to want lots and lots of evidence that you'll sell...do you have any?...no...because it's just an anecdote based on your guessing.

Why would anyone buy a book for the purpose of accepting coaching from a complete stranger who is just guessing.
