I have fistula-in-ano and doctor said that you have to remove it by surgery. I am concerned about surgery that how painful is it and how long does it takes to heel up, how many days do I have to take off from work. If somebody has the fistula-in-ano surgery experience then please share with me.

Thanks
A

Your in luck, my dad just had his 2ND surgery. And it wasn't pretty either!! My father had 3 fistulas repaired that was in the manly part, if you know what I mean. and came home the same day with an open flesh wound about 4 inches long, Yes it looked as bad as it sounds. My mother needed help, but I told her neither of us are nurses? My Mother was forced to nurse my father's wounds, it just wasn't right, you know. I wrote just to let you know, to get yourself admitted, and if they give you ****, just tell them you won't have the surgery then. IT WILL WORK, and you will prevent a burden type of feeling for yourself. My father is only 58, this man suffered big time. YES IT HURTS, get some pain meds and don't leave the hospital until you have that prescription of gooood stuff, you hear!!!!!!!!!!!! One more thing, due to lack of nurse training , my dad, had gotten an infection that has made him loose 80 lbs in 3 months. He's still dealing with this 3 months later and he will be for a while and one more surgery to go. Just one person's event in life, hope it helps/?
