what do you do when u encounter a professor or teacher like that? i have one of those, and that professor makes me wish for things i dont really want.

You may not like my answer because I think you expect and are looking for sympathy, but if you are honest with yourself you might. First of all understand that teaching is not a form of entertainment. It is the imparting of knowledge and as such it doesn't presupose that it has to amuse. Many students expect the teacher to be scintillating, amusing, witty...Some people can be and some can't. We all wish that our teachers were dynamic, enthusiastic and amusing. Sometimes, teachers teaching the same subject for a long time, become bored themselves. However, you are there to acquire knowledge not to be entertained. Instead of calling the professor boring, ask yourself what do you expect to get out of his class. Perhaps, you could ask interesting questions and participate in discussions if at all possible. If not then just listen mindfully and think about what the message is. The message is always more important than the messenger - so don't kill the messenger. As in everything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. Hang in there, boredom never killed anyone.

When I was in college, I never took any crap from a professor. They get off on pushing people around - for some it's a power trip. Every arrogant (f)uck who tried b/s on me got it right back and them some.
There isn't much you can do about a professor that's boring, but I wouldn't take any crap from an "unpleasant" professor. I'd tell him to go stick his head up his butt and yodel for a while

There are many like that out there. Makes you appreciate the ones who are upbeat and personable. Just hang in there if you can't change sections.

Just count down the days until the class is finished in May. Just tolerate him or her until you finish the class.

I always just get the notes and then play games on my computer.
