I don't wear any shoes indoors that I've worn outdoors. I take off my shoes when I come into the house and put on clean slippers. God knows what's on the pavement I walk on each day, and I definitely don't want that bacteria being dragged into my home. When I'm at other people's houses, I ask them if I should take off my shoes - some say yes, others insist for me not to and say that they wear shoes in the house themselves. So it depends, but definitely ask instead of barging in your street shoes and assuming it won't offend them. I only allow shoes to be worn in my house by my aunt who has a bunch of medical problems which make it difficult for her to bend down to take off her shoes. But unless a person has a legitimate excuse like that, I ask them to take off their shoes and provide them with slippers.

No, I don't wear shoes in my house or other peoples. I do allow shoes to be worn in my house if someone has a hard time getting shoes on and off.

I never every wear shoes inside my house. I have a very strict rule that shoes are not worn in the house. We have a porch area that is covered that shoes are left on before coming inside. When my friends and family come over to visit they know about the rule and take their shoes off without any disscussion. My kids frequent friends know the rule so their is no problem there. When people visit for the first time that is a different story. Some will see all the shoes and just take theirs off. Others will see all the shoes and ask if I want them to take off their shoes. Some people miss the shoes and me standing their in socks all together. For these people I simply ask "oh before you come in could you just remove your shoes."

No i do not wear shoes in the house but it is not a cleaning issue I have with the shoes on, it is just that I do not like to wear shoes around the house-like going barefoot in my socks. I wear shoes in other people house if they tell me its ok to do so, if not I take them off. I do not care if someone wears shoes in my house, the males in my house do it all the time.

Leave the street shoes at the door. Use house shoes or slippers inside the house. Why bring the dirt in if someone will have to clean it up later?

Yes, I do wear shoes or slippers in my house, and in the homes of others. Of course people can wear shoes in my house.
I have tiled floors, not carpeting, so cleaning them is easy. Even when I had carpeting at another house, I would not presume that people would need to take their shoes off to come in.

I never wear shoes anywhere, however I wouldn't ever tell people they couldn't wear shoes in my house unless they tried to come in with shoes covered in mud! In which case it'd be the mud I objected to, not the shoes. Why should I tell them what to wear or not to wear when I don't want people telling me? Live and let live!

I wear shoes in my house most of the time, or at least sandles to keep my feet warm. I cannot stand going to other people's houses where they ask you to take off your shoes, but don't have the common courtesy to crank up the heat so your feet don't freeze

Yes I wear shoes in the house. I have old wood floors, and am not willing to get splinters. I also have pets, and do not want to find the unwanted "gift" by feel! I wear shoes in other peoples houses unless they specifically ask me to remove my shoes. I think that shoe dirt is easier to remove from rugs and floors than foot odor, so it makes no sense to me to have people remove their shoes indoors.
