Yep, it is the greatest drink ever:
Take a tin shaker and combine 7 lime wedges (approx. 1 lime), 10 fresh full mint leaves, and 11/2 oz oz simple syrup (50/50 mix of sugar and water). Using a muddle (mini baseball looking thing), grind the ingrediants together in the bottom of the tin until the wedges are crushed and the leaves are ground.
Next, add 4 oz. of rum (I like Bacardi the best) and a cups' worth of ice. Cover and shake the living hell out of it until your hand burns from the cold.
Pour into a chilled pint glass annd float with a splash of ginger ale. JUST a splash though. Garnish with a stick of sugar cane and prepare to be addicted.
*For a tasty rendition of the drink, try using Bacardi Vanilla instead of regualr Bacardi and adding 1/2 oz of Midori before shaking. Big hit at my old bar. Enjoy!

I use a tall slender glass, I think it holds 8oz of fluid.
Add some fresh mint leaves (5 or 6) and a healthy tablespoon of sugar and wedge of fresh lime. With some sort of pestle (I use a wooden spoon), mash the mint/sugar/lime together. (that is what the bartender in the bacardi commercial is doing).
Fill the glass with ice, add your rum, top off with club soda. If you want to be fancy you can garnish with a mint leaf.
For a strong mojito use regular rum, like bacardi. You can also make a real tasty, but less alcoholic, version using some of the flavored rums. Sometimes I make these with mango rum, real tasty. The flavored rums tend to have less alcohol content, 40 proof vs 80 proof.

a mojito is pretty much like a mexican mint julep. so if you like a med-strong mint flavor, than
you'll use clear bacardi rum
mint leaves
lime juice, lime slices for garnish.
ice
sugar to taste
club soda
you might need a cocktail strainer, and a mixer.
it will be "shaken", not stirred.... and you'll need to use something to press some of that mint flavor out...
add everything to the mixer, and shake, shake, shake, and if you don't want the ice or mint leaves directly in your drink, than use the strainer, but if you want it all in there, just shake it real good and then serve it in a short chunky glass, and garnish with lime slices.

Take fresh limes and sugar and 1-2 sprigs of mint leaves and mash them at the bottom of a glass. There is a special tool, but you can find just about utensil to use. Add the bacardi and the club soda and a sprig or two of mint leaves.

Use muddler to lightly press mint and dissolve sugar until it smells of spearmint gum.
