I am a 16 year old who has always thought that you shouldn't look for love, but that it will come to you and that i should wait for a guy to ask me out, however, a couple of weeks ago i started to notice this guy that works in a shop i visit very often. I'd like to start talking to him and maybe even ask him out for a coffee...There's a part of me that is saying i should totally go for it as he could be a really nice guy and yet im not sure if that's forcing love to happen...What do you think? I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks :-)

Don't chase boys. If this person were interested in you, he'd take the time to get to know you and possible ask you out. Love will come to you when you're a mature woman, rather than a teenage girl.

You're not "forcing" love to happen, you're seizing the opportunity!
Your attraction to this guy already exists, right? You didn't "make" it happen. But once those feelings exist, you have to do something about them. **Fate only takes you so far** - it's up to you to decide what to do with it.
When love comes to you, it doesn't come with violins and roses and a prince at your feet and a big Broadway show-stopper... it comes in small, subtle ways, and you have to stay on the look-out. It's the small moments that matter - the flutter in your stomach when you look at him, the pleasure when he remembers some small but profound fact about you, the way he takes your hand at just the right moment. And sometimes love takes a lot of work - you have to learn how to get used to each other's little habits, overcome difficulties of distance and finance, and so on. But it can make the love you build all the more wonderful.

Nowadays there is nothing wrong with a girl asking a guy to go for coffee or soda or even a sandwich. If you haven't spoken to him before...I would start with just small conversation...."How you doing". Is he near your age? Ask him what school he goes to...etc. After you and him have had a couple of conversations...just ask him if he'd like to go for a coffee or something to eat. :) good luck!

It's 2007 ask him it's only a cup of coffee or a coke and a burger. If he's nice see where it going if he not nice you just had a cup of coffee. no harm no foul.

go for it roberta ask him out, it is not often that a girl asks a guy out (atleast in my dating career it has been that way) and my current gf whom I am madly in love asked me out, and I find that really special. best of luck to you
