no disrespect intended. Unity in what? Divided in what?

I'd like to see people of different religions prove the love that their religion represents by being so kind and loving it drives the haters away.
I heard an interview on Weekday today (2-7-07) with Bruce Feiler, who's traveled through the Middle East making a T.V. show about Biblical places. He really gave a strong plea for interfaith dialog. I'm not really into that completely, but among Christians, I prefer to focus on what we have in common.
My dh is Jewish so I've studied and experienced that religion to a certain extent, but I'd like to learn more about all faiths and at least to meet people who believe differently than I dowith an open heart.

I believe that we need to unify as a whole and except others differences. I am not saying except child molesters just except that people can be different and we are not all going to have the same beliefs and look the same. Red Wood trees are the strongest plant out there they are disease and insect resistant. They really were created to live forever until you look at their roots. Without other roots from other Red woods they will fall over because their roots are so shallow. But when there are many together they link their roots and can't be blown over.

If you mean, united we stand, divided we fall; I agree especially regarding God's word. That is part of the reason I believe the scriptural 'old testament' is not Genesis-Malachi, but the law of Moses.(Can one have the law of Moses before Moses was born)? (Are we divided with God currently)?
May you receive a large pleasant surprise today to God's glory!!!

that is totally true. if we cannot be united in the minor problems, how can we ston when the going gets really tough. the non trivial issues that arise, can divide a church so much that they are willing to fight it out. my church was divided over a silly thing like a carpet design. we were at one point just over 500 men, not to mention the women, teens, and children. now we are just ofer 300 combined. so non-trivial issues are to be left to the children.

Yea we need to unite, we have a few strong threads holdng America together, we need to rise us and set apart out differences to do what needs to be done- get America back on track before we get invaded and/or fall apart... ⥠I have hope, I will rise.

Compare it to make a bundle of twigs tied together and you can use it for sweeping. Alone it will be hard to clean a spot.
