I have been using henna on my hair for two years. Can I change to chemical dyes straight away or do I have to wait 6 months? If so, why?

I was thinking of changing as I am fighting white hairs and the coverage is not great, so I have to colour often.

No! Don't even try. Don't even have to wait for after 6 months. But wait until your hair is fully healthy with no any dyes or henna. The first sign is to see a new baby hair coming grow from your skin head. Its is becouse your hair is much deep suitly with the henna. I don't know how to explain much but I know the answer. Trust me, just No!.

There doesnt seem any logic for waiting for 6 months before switching. But why do you want to switch .Henna is definately better for your hair than the chemical dyes.

I don't think you need to wait at all. However, chemical dyes are much more damaging to your hair and after applying Henna, your hair looks nice longer.

I would prefer Henna, as its natural/verbal. you have already listed pros-cons for both of them, which I knew. but I have one more to add. Henna: pros- sun light can not damage color of hair easily chem dye cons- sun light can damage color but If u get bored with one hair color, then I would suggest go for chemical dye from some GOOD company. also, its bad idea to use chemical dye often.

Henna is more natural than other chemicals.
The chemicals will be habit-forming.
Meaning, that you will have to stay with buying the chemical products for the rest of your life.
Always stay with natural formulas.
