I am Agnostic. I have been kinda wondering what some more religious people thought about my beliefs. Here's a definition of Agnostic if you don't know what it means:

I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other about agnostics. I believe everyone is in a different place in their journey and are naturally drawn to a belief system (or not). All religions have value, as does Atheism and Agnosticism. All paths lead to the same destination. Some are shortcuts, some are long and winding roads, but all will arrive.

I think it means you are honest. A lot of people go around saying they KNOW God exists or the KNOW God doesn't exist. How do they KNOW for certain? People on here have called you a coward which is bunk. It takes a much more confident person to admit that they don't know and don't have all the answers.

For what it's worth, I'm with you on that one. I've always leaned more heavily towards being an Atheist because it seems more logical. I however am not going to be meglomanical enough to say I KNOW squat because I can't prove anything. Also when people KNOW they are right they tend to forget how to be subjective. That causes close mindedness and ignorance. Much like those calling you a coward.

What do you call an Agnostic, Dyslexic, Insomniac?

Someone who lies awake at night and ponders the existence of dog.

Have a nice day!

Your definition did not show up, however I am familiar with the general definition of agnostic. I think agnostics are as individual as atheists and believers. Some I have found, are just not courageous enough to take a stand on one side or the other. Others are still trying to figure things out. Others have just given up trying and sit happily on the fence.

It means nothing? Is it fill in the blank? Hmmm...are all you agnostics so witty. I think you just want the attention of being fought over by opposing sides. Kidding. I am a Christian Agnostic, which means I have a faith based upon my own internal and external experiences, but don't claim to know what I can't know. It's refreshingly delicious.

* Strong agnosticism (also called hard agnosticism, closed agnosticism, strict agnosticism, absolute agnosticism)—the view that the question of the existence or nonexistence of god(s) are unknowable by nature or that human beings are ill-equipped to judge the evidence.
* Weak agnosticism (also called soft agnosticism, open agnosticism, empirical agnosticism, temporal agnosticism)—the view that the existence or nonexistence of God(s) is currently unknown but is not necessarily unknowable, therefore one will withhold judgment until/if more evidence is available.
* Apathetic agnosticism—the view that there is no proof of either the existence or nonexistence of God(s), but since any God(s) that may exist appear unconcerned for the universe or the welfare of its inhabitants, the question is largely academic anyway.
* Non-practicing agnosticism—the view that there is no proof of either existence or nonexistence of God(s), and that it's meaningless to care.
* Ignosticism—the view that the concept of God(s) as a being is meaningless because it has no verifiable consequences, therefore it cannot be usefully discussed as having existence or nonexistence. (See scientific method)
* Model agnosticism—the view that philosophical and metaphysical questions are not ultimately verifiable but that a model of malleable assumption should be built upon rational thought. This branch of agnosticism does not focus on a deity's existence.
* Agnostic theism (also called religious agnosticism)—the view of those who do not claim to know existence of God(s), but still believe in such an existence. (See Knowledge vs. Beliefs)
* Agnostic spiritualism—the view that there may or may not be a God(s), while maintaining a general personal belief in a spiritual aspect of reality, particularly without distinct religious basis, or adherence to any established doctrine or dogma.
* Relative Agnosticism—This is similar to Agnostic spiritualism, but with the added view that if it was empirically proven that God(s) do or do not exist, it would not affect the beliefs of the Relative Agnostic.
* Agnostic atheism—the view of those who do not know of the existence or nonexistence of god(s), and do not believe in god(s)

which one were you again?

I believe out of all religions that have the best idea for belief :o)

i believe agnosticism is basically another form of Atheism it's just that agnostics don't fully deny that there is or isn't a God.

I am a student of New Testament Greek so I am quite familiar with the ORIGINAL meaning of the term. It occurs twice in the text and is usually translated "ignorant." I fail to understand why someone would adopt such a word for themselves.

1Corinthians 15:34 Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.

1Peter 2:15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.

I've been a Christian for >40 years & my experience w/ Agnostics has been that you have doubts & are searching for the truth--I'm okay w/ that. If people ask me about my faith I give honest answers--I don't try to force anyone to believe any thing. Peace to you.

I'm an atheist but I respect agnostics, having been there for a long time myself.

I saw a bumper sticker once that mad me laugh:

"Militant Agnostic: I don't know AND YOU DON'T KNOW EITHER!"
