I have a 12 , 10 , 8 , and a 10 " deep poultry Fryer. i take advantage of the poultry Fryer and the 8" the most (probable because i'm via myself),and performance had them for 30+ years. user-friendly techniques to "season" a stunning good iron Skillet, is to take some potatoes that you've too lengthy and make french fries, or something you may throw out.you may also simmer some cooking oil in them. the following is the position a lot of people have a situation with solid iron Pans: not in any respect WASH THEM ! All you do once you're complete cooking, is pour out the oil,and rinse in warmth water, and dry.not in any respect USE cleansing soap ! it really is what some people have a situation with. Your poultry would not style better effective from cooking in solid iron, it really is because you may fry at a better temperature that quick seals in spite of you're cooking. in case you opt on any better concepts, digital mail me any time, Vinny

You can make anything you want in a cast iron skillet, but you have to season it first in the oven, and I always found it works better after quite a bit of use. A new skillet is somewhat bumpy inside the pan, so after a few uses and scouring clean, it will be smoother and food won't stick so much. For now, use it for things like browning meats or anything that isn't so sticky (like spaghetti sauce), and don't crank the heat too much.

cast iron skillets and kettles are a wonerful tool from the past and very useful today. A skillet that has been seasoned can be used for baking, frying, boiling, and do most any part of the cooking process. Below I have given you information as to how to season your skillet (which is important) so food won't stick and also given you recipes that you can use using the skillet. I have had my cast iron skillets, griddles, corn fritter, stew pots now for many many years. You can even hand them down to your children. They are valuable.

besides frying chicken, the best thing to make is pineapple upside down cake. the Joy of Cooking has an excellent recipe for one. make sure the skillet is hot when you add the brown sugar, butter and pineapple. the heat of the skillet will keep it from sticking.
an iron skillet is also a good way to get some iron into your system...
enjoy the cake!

Looks like you have good ingredients for an omelet or maybe even quiche. The omelet would be great with the feta, spinach, and onions and you could cook it in butter or olive oil. And the quiche is made with eggs and you could probably add all of the above except maybe for the noodles and salmon to the quiche.

go to www.google.com and type in quiche

Anything that can be made in any other kind of skillet. Cast iron is what they used before aluminum and stainless steel pots and pans. Just be sure and season it first, and care for it properly. They are not like pans made of modern metals, the do require special care to get good results from them... checkout this site

While you can cook practically anything in cast iron, I wouldn't start off with eggs. (Even though that sounds like a fabulous omelette!) Use it and season it a heck of a lot more before attempting eggs.

I almost gave up on cast iron years ago when the eggs glued themselves to the pan.

practially anything. I like using cast iron skillets especially when i make pancakes.. but they can go in the oven if it doesn't have a plastic handle.. you can bake salmon or your chicken in it.. you can practically make any hearty dish into one of those skillets.
