Generally, how much doest it cost to go to a place like HR Block?

I have fairly simple taxes to do, but i am not too confident to do them myself...how much does it usually cost to go get them done?

Most of the storefront tax prep mills start around $40 - $50 for the simplest return (1040EZ, no state return) and go up from there.

Most taxpayers can do their own taxes without any trouble at all. And the IRS sponsors free e-filing of returns for many taxpayers although there may be a charge for state returns. Have a look at this link, it can save you money and time: http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html

If your return is a bit more complex, any of the commercially available software such as Tax Cut, Turbo Tax or Tax Act will walk you through preparing and filing your return for much less than the tax prep mills charge.
