There's no difference, they are the same. White people are not allowed to hate -- only Hispanics and blacks. But I think it's getting to the point where most white people don't care about being called racist anymore. We are sick of hearing it. I know I am and I could care less what anyone thinks of me. We've been accused of it so much that it no longer means anything. I'm glad to hear that the whites are starting to come together. It's about time we stood up for ourselves and our race. I think we've done enough *** kissing and we aren't getting anything in return, just more accusations, so I see no problem with it. And if they don't like it, too bad. I'm proud of my race and always will be. And if that offends anyone they can go to ****. Period.

I agree with logon17. We are talking about entirely different groups here. KKK is a white supremacist group that actually hates everyone other than their own race, specifically blacks then Jews and homosexuals. They also have killed blacks and even whites that were considered traitors against the white race. I have never heard of the Brown Berets, but I am familiar with Black Panthers and when did you hear of them preaching the extremity of hate such as the KKK? Panthers didn’t kill, hang, and throw bombs through churches and windows.
The black panthers typically preached black dominance and pride that was and STILL considered to be only dictated by white society. Minorities are not allowed to hate and neither is anyone else. However, because of centuries of segregation of blacks and inhumane treatment by white counterparts, minorities are governed with sensitivity when it comes to prospective prejudice. It is very easy for a minority to claim racial discrimination due to years of abuse and any slight racial remark, gesture or discrimination is taken personally, whether it was intentional or not. Blacks are overly sensitive to racism or anything that may point to it. If whites were to say "white power" or joke about a black person as black comedians do whites, they are regarded as racist. It's just because blacks are more susceptible to racism and sensitive to the term "white power" that is associated with the KKK and white supremacist groups. Blacks have been the epitome of jokes, torture, and despise by whites for centuries; hence, if a white person makes fun of a black individual today, he is regarded as a racist.
It is not ok to hate anyone or any race. I don’t hate people. I don’t like some people but I don’t hate anyone. I know many blacks love using the 'race card" when they suspect prejudice because they feel it is an easy out and money but those same blacks will never get anywhere in life.

What vacuum did you crawl out of? Most people DO consider the Black Panthers and Brown Berets to be hate groups. That said, you can hardly compare them to a group that is responsible for severe discrimination and the deaths of thousands of people. The Black Panthers and Brown Berets have a long way to go to catch up to over a hundred years of death and destruction.
Their basic doctrine and origins are very different, too. The Panthers were born out of a society that devalued their race to the point of forcing them into virtual slavery, despite the fact that they were supposedly "freed" in the 1860s. Now that racism is much more controlled, their power is waning. The Panthers and Berets are a non-issue in today's world. The only real issue here is your racist attitude. Comparing the Berets and Panthers to the KKK is like comparing chocolate to arsenic. Yeah, if you eat enough chocolate over a long time, it'll kill you. But it is no arsenic.

Unfortunately it is the "norm" in our society. The best way to combat this is to point it out. Myself, I constantly remind my son to question things. I was proud when the school called to complain that my son questioned why there was a black history month, but not a mexican history month, or a white history month. I always point out to him when he sees mexican or black comedians making fun of white people, but that it is not ok for white comedians to do the same. Or on a recent TV show where someone was talking about "Black power" how if that was turned into the phrase "white power" we would never have seen it on TV. Educate the next generation. That's the only hope we have at truly having people judged by who they are, not what they look like.

They are a hate group. I think even the liberal media has a hard time justifying the actions of the Black Panther Party. They are as hateful as the KKK and about as organized as them too LOL Any group that just focuses on their own people is racist in my opinion. We are all supposed to be the same race, human, and when you separate us, it only leads to conflict. If you want to join a group, be a part of a group that looks for the interests of ALL people not just one select group. It will be beneficial for all.

The KKK, Black Panthers, and Brown Berets are all the same. THAT is being judged "not by the color of their skin, but on the content of their character".

No, you are right-The Black Panthers were started because of members of the KKK so the Black Panthers retaliated. But regardless they are all prejudice groups no matter what.If you hate or commit hate crimes on a person/persons solely based on your misconceived notions about their race or sexual orientation, then YES you would be a racist. BTW I've never heard of the Brown Beret---------WTF is up with the thumbs down???HATE IS HATE NO MATTER WHAT RACE!

The KKK is based in hatred and murder. It was started to scare feed slaves back into submission. Those who did not react properly or were judged to be to "uppity" were murdered, usually hung. Who has the black panther's hung? Or the brown berets? Maybe they hate what people do, and they do defend a race of people from narrow minded bigots, but they do not seek out others to intimidate and harass. Of course today's KKK is a bunch of impotent old white men who can only shout offensive slogans and words. They are not a hate group so much as they are a pathetic group.

They are all hate groups. I agree that minorities are allowed to hate.
For example, last Halloween in Long Beach three WHITE girls were brutally beaten by a gang of blacks teens. They used skate boards, kicked them when they were already unconscious, threw pumpkins at them, etc... One girl has 14 face fractures and her eye ball was pushed out of its socket. She almost died.
Well 9 of these animals were tried and convicted of felony assault and hate crimes. All of the kids got probation. Some got "house arrest" and they are suppose to go to classes regarding race relations and not hating other races.
If this case had been reversed, the "white" felons would all be in jail/juvie for a long time. This isn't right. These ANIMALS got off, without even a slap on the wrist, because they were black.
BTW, these teens still claim they didn't do anything even though there was blood on their clothes. They were urged to apologize but never did and I doubt they ever will.

Because they have been around longer and helped cause the others to form. Doesn't make it right. I guess it is the same reason why a white person born in Africa cannot be classified as an African American.
