Most of us worship the God we *think* we know, which may not be who and what God really is. I'd have to say the latter. The Bible was never meant to be an idol. One of the commandments that God handed to people through Moses was "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image."

That being said, I respect His Word for what it is and live by it in all ways.

But I don't pray to the Bible.
