I guess you think it's such an easy life that you will no doubt rush off to join up! Think again child(however old you are)
These men and women are cruising our motorways so that when there is an accident they can get there quicker. These same people then might have to go and knock on a door and tell the occupants that their son, daughter, wife or husband has been killed! Fancy that side of it? As for those in Tesco's car park everyone is entitled to a coffee break and at least they wont have far to go when they are called to pick up the latest kleptomaniac.
Our police do a great job, I respect them for it because I KNOW I couldn't do it!

All English and Welsh Police Forces are divided into geographical sectors, often they maintain on with an same barriers as interior of reach councils. each and each of those Police factors has a minimum Staffing Requirement for each shift. hence, you're extra probably to work out the Police on a Friday and Saturday evening than you're on a Sunday or Monday morning. Police Forces won't be able to flow below the minimum Staffing Requirement because it really is a breach of well being and protection guidelines and may threaten the protection of the accepted public and different police officials on accountability. From the instantaneous officials come on accountability till the time they clock off they are out and about coping with jobs observed as into the administration Room or Police Station with few possibilities to take a smash. Are you one of those spotty CHAVs trying to play boy racer in your clapped out Vauxhall Nova Plastic Spoiler Special whose been pulled too many times and is now wearing a Peckham Rolex (tag)? Or, are you a One Hundred Yard Hero, ie; someone who is very brave and yells obscenities at the Police from a safe distance?

I think you need to rephrase this question because if you are not having a go at the police it sounds like you are.

I was driving in london on the bus collecting fairs when a riot van flies past siren blaring, lights as well, full of coppers all who are full time and paid for there commitment to law enforcement. To the passengers and my amazement, the lights and siren went off as the van pulled into McDonalds. No trouble but only five minutes till it closed. They were collecting there lunch at 10.55pm from the drive through as we went past. What a waste of money!
