If you are not in the wedding itself and you are just a guest ... is it better to wear a skirt or a dress?

either is fine -- go for light colors and nothing too short!

Where is the wedding being held? What time is the wedding taking place? If the wedding is after 7 o'clock it is considered formal and you will need to dress up. If its an outdoor ceremony (before 7) you can dress a little bit more casual. Either a dress or a skirt will be fine for a semi formal wedding.

If the wedding is formal meaning after 5 then wear a dress if it is non-formal before 5 wear a skirt.

it depends on how formal the wedding is. a skirt and a nice top is fine for a more casual wedding, but not appropriate for a more formal wedding. try asking other people you know who'll be at the wedding too what they're wearing to get a better idea. you can also try a nice pantsuit as well, if it's too cold for skirts.

Either is fine as long as the style, color and length are appropriate.

The important thing is to take the time of year, time of day and formality of the event into consideration. Don't wear a long black ballgown to a springtime, afternoon wedding.

Skirt, dress, pantsuit, doesn't really matter. Just make sure the skirt isn't too short, the pants aren't too casual, and neither are too tight. Stay away from all black (too funeral-ish), all white (too much like the bride), and all red (too trampy).

Either is fine. Just something nice that you feel comfortable in. Wear nice shoes/sandals, not sneakers.

depends on the weather and what your personal preference is... a nice pant suit or dress is acceptable...

I would wear a pink skirt with little pink shoes and nice little bow in my hair.
