Check out this web site bhg.com and then scroll down to the decorater gallery and look for coloraroom and click that and it allows you to "paint" different rooms to see how it looks! But I helped a guy friend paint his house and we did his LR in dark blue on two walls and a light blue on the other two walls (this was be-4 I discovered that website) so it was too dark as he only had one window and a door w/ a window in it we left the ceiling white but it didn't help much!!! He liked it- but I didn't it becuz' I like ALOT of light around me- let the sun shine 24/7 and I would be one happy camper!! But accessories can make or break a room also- so after you help paint take him shopping for some "manly" type pictures or posters!! And you may be surprised how much he will like doing something such as that!!!

Certain shades of Dark Red look good. I once used Chinese Red on one wall behind my bed when I was single. Check magazines for ideas. I have been looking at real estate on the iternet lately and have seen a lot of rooms painted that way. If this is a college dorm room or something, then go with a shade of blue.

I agree with the green. I'm a dude with style, and my bedroom is a "sage" green. It's stylish but not sissy.
Sophistication can come from the individual colors, but you have to pay a lot of attention to the color's relation to the rest of the house. I have a lighter shade of sage in the living room and then when you go theough the door to my bedroom, the slightly (just slightly) darker shade makes you subconsciously feel a little more private.

Go with a linen color so that way you can always accent the furniture and bedding with black, white, and sage. Those colors pulled together will bring a wow to the room in a good way

In your case I would try the dark Green, like forest green or billard green. This color keeps the manhood alive by enriching the room. If you take up this color you can also suggest that he uses other colors like cream and brown to add an earth tony look.
Have fun!

Get a nutral colour like gray, like you reported. yet not darkish. except you attempt to be a vampire and stay in a cave or dungeon or something, are not getting a dismal color of gray. If its finished proper, it ought to look extremely manly and present day with a lighter tint of gray. are not getting brown... its grotesque.
