Because a person is intelligent but people are stupid. Plus it gives them an excuse to screw up and break whatever law they think they can get away with and then stand back and say "It's not my fault" or "I repent"...gateway to cowardice if you ask me.

All it takes is the personal ability to bamboozle ones self, or to be so bamboozled by others into a belief in a God concept to be routed clearly on the path to gullibility.
Ignorance, superstition, magical thinking and gullibility establish fertile ground for religion to thrive in.
Not withstanding what I have said above why shower all the money & time on religious belief other than that money provides for Mega country club facilities for lower & middle class Americans who can't afford the enterance fees to the real country.clubs

Getting to know God is getting to know the people around you; you can love God all you want, but you can't attain salvation if you ignore those around you. Jesus said, 'Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.'
Jesus also said, 'Wherever two or three are gathered in my name, I am there.' Religion is simply a group of people of the same faith.'

Jesus said that? When? Where? Jesus WHO? Jesus Martinez?
Where did you come up with this stuff? How do you know who is in heaven. I am amazed at some things people say, but you are really off the edge.

Most people are bound by family tradition and are caught where they don't want to hurt the family structure.
Others the bible says that the devil has blinded them
(2Corinthians 4:4) In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

No faith has absolute evidence to grant each and every sceptic, or agnostic,or atheist, nor believer. no longer even the religion of technology can grant absolute proofs. that's why there is not any faith which could prepare their ideals. that is all faith, the two you have it or you do no longer. the two you domesticate it or you do no longer: that is called "loose will" given to us via our author. definite.....The Bible is God's be conscious. the place do you think of the concept of "One God" the author got here from? Egyptian mythology? Greek memories? It got here from the Bible the place it replaced into written at God's training. that's a typical reality, neither Christians,Hebrews, nor Muslims invented the devil nor hell. Lucifer replaced into created, departed from God on his own volition, and hell replaced into created via God for the devil. i do no longer think of Christians will bypass to hell neither. who've you been listening too? Why do you seem so upset?

Thats a nice point.
The problem comes with not religion but the eventual dogmatic system that developes with time.

We are all children of God, is a direct quote from the bible. The bibal is part of the deception of religion. Why would you quote it if you really meant what you say?

No. We are all God's creation. We are His children by adoption and by Faith:
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)
BIG difference.

i agree with you completely!
all religion is wrong!
Faith is not, but religion is. but the only problem with your statement is that you have to decide where to draw the line between religion, tradition, and reverence.
for example is taking Communion religious? or is it a personal way to express to God that you remember and appreciate what he has done for you?
is church religious? or is it doing what God told us to do by fellowship with other Christians to help us with our walk?
its a personal decision i agree,
but its not one that should be made so lightly.

Amen, people get too caught up in what religion dictates. But Christ just wants us to love and honor Him and love each other
