You change to greyscale from your printer properties. Click on File - Print - Properties - Color - Print in Greyscale

Select the text.
click Format
cl Font
select a color.

Why not get generic cartridges? I use brand names only while my printer is under warranty. Unless you have an expensive printer that is worth paying to repair, you might want to try
