Be head of the house-protect, defend, definitely provider, teacher, be there for the child(ren), if the mom is in the picture-be loving to her as well. Be the example. If the father did have a good father-that was responsible, etc., then should be similar to that role model. If not, then this father probably would be helped by taking parenting classes. Depending on the age of the child, the basic parenting classes are one thing, but if a teen-there are different classes for that age bracket. Take care

Spend quality time with each.
Come home after work. Seeing his family should take priority over beer.
Do his share in house work and child care
Keep his family in mind when making decisions by not doing anything that could potentinally harm or tear the family apart. Ex. Cheating.
Show an honest interest in his wife and childrens lives and attend sport games,recitals,ect.

Teacher - teach your child right from wrong
Spiritual advisor - introduce your child to God
Friend - spend time with your child playing, fishing, etc.
Provider - provide the neccessitites needed
Dad - give praise when deserved, listen when needed, give advice when asked, spend time together, have an available shoulder at all times, if you have a son ~ let him know it's okay to cry when he needs to, teach him how to treat a lady, the elderly, etc.

dad asked me this question once, and here were my answer:
dad is responsible of turning off my light after he tucked me in.
dad is responsible of kissing mom once when he's about to go to work, and once as he return from work.
dad is responsible of driving us to uncle marv every few weekends to spend our weekend there with our cousins.
dad is responsible of pushing the swing
dad is in charge in changing the television channel

helping n everything , really being there for his children ,a friend as well as a father, has to be strong enough ...knows how to communicate with his children and their mother, being reallyyyyyyy responsible...thats enough for the father of my children
