I'm solitary. Covens are too restrictive and I'm far too Eclectic to work well with others.

Both. Sort of.

About a year and a half ago I was initiated into a Lineage related to Alexandrian Wicca, which effectively grafted me into a large tree of interrelated practitioners of the Craft. Unfortunately the person who initiated me had to move away suddenly and most of the members of the Lineage are actually in another province, and so I haven't had much opportunity to practice within the Lineage's tradition.

For the last few years I've been teaching (and learning!), and since April of 2005 I've been getting together with other solitary Wiccans for monthly full moon (esbat) rites. There are 13 people on the contact list for the Full Moon group, and while we aren't a coven we've formed a pretty good working unit.

Plus, I do my own solitary rituals as needed.

Since each Wiccan functions as an independent priest/ess, in my opinion the choice to go the coven route or the solitary route is a matter of person taste (if coven participation is even an option). Working in a coven is a totally different experience from working solitary, and in my opinion an excellent one.

If you're looking for other Wiccans in your area, may I suggest the Witches of the World section at Witchvox:

Use the pull-down menus on the left to select your part of the world to see what individuals, groups, and events are available in your area.

Best of luck to you. :-)

I am a solitary practitioner.

But me and my friends sometimes pull a little coven together to do holiday rituals.

Blessed Be

I'm solitary. I find covens to be too confining. Besides that, I don't like non blood-relations knowing next-to everything about me. It's too creepy for my taste.

Solitary. I'm VERY eclectic in my approach to spirituality, blending quantum physics, buddhism and many other bits and pieces into the mix. Basically I try to absorb as much knowledge as possible, retaining what my heart says I should and filing the rest for reference. Wicca serves as my framework though, both philosophically and morally.

I am covened.

I practiced for years as a solitary, and would again if I had to.

Solitary.

I do much better without that much structure. Because of this and other reasons, I'm technically not really a Wiccan anymore.

Peace.

Solitary, at this point and time.

I don't consider myslef Wiccan, but I do practice the Craft solitarily.

I find the coven environment has some very power hungry people in them...I'm better without a boss...and I don't wanna be boss.
