Ban it? Are you kidding?
They want to prevent the majority from having it and keep the sick stuff for the "ruling elite", ie. themselves, to do without anyone complaining.
Why do you think they spend so much time and effort protecting sick puppies like Mark Foley and Ted Haggard? George Bush forced a woman to have an abortion, Pat Robertson did deals with convicted war criminal Charles Taylor, Jerry Falwell said the South African Apartheid government was "godly" and "ethical". And look at all the right wing thugs who deal in kiddy porn, prostitution and drugs....

Remember, these links are only a PARTIAL list of the religious reich's sick and hypochristian behaviours. If these perverts, thieves and rapists were Democrats, that party wouldn't exist.
I guess the so-called "liberal" media isn't too interested when a Republican does it.

Depends on the person I suppose. Some may want to ban divorce, women's rights, or a number of other things that they are thumping the Bible and pretending to have moral authority to stand on. I am a Christian who believes that abortion and gay marriage should be legally protected. Suprised? The world is not black and white and most of us fall inbetween I think. Just like all religious people are not republicans, not all democrats are pagan, and individual beliefs of most Americans probably fall in the middle of the most hot topics of debate. Both far right and far left sides of any issue do not want to admit it, but most of us think they are extreme and unrealistic. When given choice A or choice B, you should always ask yourself, What about C-Z?

Hard to say...
Abortion would be redundant if people would be responsible and use contraception. What's so hard about contraception?
As regards gays, here's a little piece I just added to my blog that you might find interesting:
THE HYPOCRISY OF HOMOPHOBIA
I suppose everyone is entitled to have their own fears and phobias and monsters under the bed, but how anyone can actually think that gays "threaten" their little world, or the institution of marriage is totally beyond me.
For comparison and contrast, let's assume that a heterosexual couple is living next door to you. Let's also assume for the sake of argument that they fit every hetero, middle-of-the-road stereotype; he's handsome and macho, she's attractive and feminine, they both have good-paying professions, they take pride in the appearance of their home (inside and out), they might even have one or two children.
OK...so this hypothetical couple next door is like any other; they make a contribution to society, their kind, friendly, charitable, etc.
Then, one day while having a beer with this guy next door, the conversation turns a bit "adult," and you talk about sexual matters. What if the guy confesses that he and his wife are into "clown sex?" You heard right. They dress up in orange wigs and red foam noses. Wouldn't you think to yourself,"ok...that's a little weird for me, but SO WHAT? They're not affecting me in any way. It's really not any of my business how they want to dress up to have sex in the privacy of their own home.
So then...what if this "couple next door" were two men? No "clown sex," nothing strange about them at all. Just...two...men.
Does your personal "value system" say that it's ok for a man and a woman to get as goofy and kinky as they want, but it's NOT ok for two people of the same sex to be together?
If your answer is yes, that's hypocritical. Period. You're entitled to your feelings; they're just not fair or logical.

I think you can add evolution and sex education to the list. Also stem cell research and they don't want the military to recognize Wicca.
