I think this was the point of Jesus walking among us. The primitive people of the Old Testament tried to grasp God, but their understanding was limited by their development. Christ came along at a point of sufficient human development to set things straight. The tragedy is that so many who call themselves Christian really don’t try to comprehend what Christ taught.

I would challenge anybody who finds the teachings of Christ irrelevant to really study what he said. Every word is absolutely as relevant today as the day he taught.

Its totally clear you are basing all this on what others have told you instead of actually reading it all yourself. Cause if you had read it all, you would not be asking this question....cause reading it all, would answer these questions for you.

First you need to do more research on ancient times, Gods, etc. Then also realize when the Bible was written, by how many people and at what times thorughout history. You state some facts but you are missing the bulk of info to fill it all in.

Just to give an example......people knew of and traded with the land we now call American 1000's of years prior to Columbus sailing over. Look it up, its fact. The mid east knew of the west land....white man is the slow one.

Another good example.....anicent people marked on stone the number of planets, names and location. But not until the mid 1950's did white man actually finally find Pluto...yet it had been marked down on tablets for 1000's of years.

First illusion....what we do today is first and up to date. That is a lie. Do you know that just a few years ago they finally realized that the ancients had electricity and actually lit the pryamids this way? Its true.

Do you realize there are blueprints of airplanes and flying rockets in Mayan tablets? Over 5,000 yrs ago, yet they know of items that could fly....and we have wind tested their designs.....they are better than our current ones that are designed by super computers...explain that.

Man is ignorant....once you realize that...the larger picture will start to unfold for you.

I grew up being an atheist, against it all, laughed at dad as he went off to church each sunday, laughed at the shourd of turin, etc etc. But after much research and God himself proving to me that he existed, I have no doubt. I have seen his power first hand and have had the smallest sliver of a taste of what is next.....unreal, unreal is the only word I can even comprehend to explain it. Nothing you can imagine can even come close.

And if all this still seems like garbage to you....then just read up and research the chapters of Revelations. Read them and have others help you on some of the translations....as remember....these are writtin by men that lived long before us that saw visions of the future and are writing it down.....they did not know what a tank is, helicopter was, etc....so they used words from their time to explain what they saw. Good example....when it mentions the swarm of locus....that is a swarm of military helicopters....just look at one then a locus....they are very VERY similar. A lions head that thrusts smoke and fire from its mouth....that is a military tank...look at one head on then realize if you lived back then, this would look like a lion breathing fire...its tan in color, has a big round head like a main and its mouth, the turret, shots fire and smoke.

When you start to understand what its all saying, it will all start to come clear. We are living in the time of Revelations right now....over 1/2 of it has been accomplished...and almost daily you can see bit by bit get accomplished. It mentions Russian, China, Iran, the war that is coming that is going on, talked bout the USA coming into Iraq aka Babylon.

Once you understand the locations in the Bible and where they are today, and then understand how they wrote the book, meaning in using terms they had then for what they saw of today, and it will all start to come very clear to you. This is the major hang up for most to be able to understand the Bible...at least it was mine.

I believe in God because it impossible for me to not. Of course there are mysteries and wonderings which we will not know the answers until our souls go to Heaven. All of this earth and life is of God, I see no way to doubt it.
