remember an estimate is not a quote, contractor can change an estimate whenever he/she wants. Get a quote if you want a concrete price.

depends on the contractor. ask them to give you a time frame on the est. generally this should be covered in your conversation. you should be getting a time frame for the start and completion of the work being done.
