some of your answers mentioned that there was a solution I can get at a beauty supply store that acts opposite the perm solution. Which solution is best? Is this something I can do on my own? How long should I wait before I try straightening out my perm?

That's OK. Actually all of the answers were from me, I just adopted different pseudonyms and then answered your question from as many different angles as I thought would help.
Bad perms are a bit of a specialty of mine since I attended the Bad Perm extra curriculum at school that nobody Else wanted to go to.

I think you should go to a beauty supply store and ask them there... they have tons of products.
