I'd call and ask them myself, but I don't exactly want to alert them to the ticket just yet.:)

Well I checked their website and it does not say.

Just call and ask! Look, if you got a ticket, they will be notified of it by DMV sooner or later anyway. They don't have to hear it from you to know it.

It's not like the CSRs make nasty little notes in your files when you call and ask questions like this! I am a CSR...at an insurance company...people ask me stuff like this every day. We don't bite...promise. :)

Why not? They will know soon enough anyway. But no, although there is one company advertising they "might" forgive your first accident, and a disappearing deductible, none of them will forgive a first ticket.

If it is your first, and you can't beat it, some states will allow you to go to traffic school, and upon completion will not report the ticket on your record, so the insurance won't know about it. You can only do this once though for the most part. Ask about it if you're found guilty.

Normally one ticket isn't going to hurt you come renewal period. I have 3 and none of them were major incidents, so allstate doesn't care about them, and USAA didn't raise my rate when I was on my dads ins. It's when you have several and a bunch of points that it hurts.

You can call and ask them, "hypothetically". They can't raise your rates anyway until the next renewal period, when they WILL find out about it.

The answer varies state by state.

You don't have to "alarm" them with anything. You simply call Customer Service and ask the question. They can't do anything to you for asking.
