What do you think of Texas mandatory inoculation against cervical cancer. Note that the drug company that made the drug has been lobbying to make it mandatory. This is something that you need to find out about before giving an opinion.

It's not so much that I am not going to have my daughter vaccinated, as the government telling me to do so, and Merck pushing for this makes me very suspicious. The fox regulating the henhouse?

This is a case of too much government. Here in California, a politician has gotten the bright idea that spanking children 4 & under should be against the law. I agree that there are other ways to correct a child, but this is an example of government intruding into one's private life....just like the mandatory vaccinations.

Firstly it isn't mandatory (if it passes the legislature, which it wont), parents are given the opt out for personal/religious reasons.

Secondly and more importantly is that this is a vaccine to prevent a specific type of cancer.

Now if it were a vaccine to prevent measles, mumps or rubella, nobody would have an issue with it; but because the cancer is cervical and can only be contracted if you are sexually active we have all the wing nuts coming out of the woodwork yelling about it.

So if you are convinced that your daughter is never going to have sexual relations, you are safe; otherwise you are willing to risk her getting a deadly cancer because of some perceived moral conflict.

WHAT WILL BE THE NEXT GOVERNMENT CONTROL? Cancer is not communicable via air. SELF CONTROL IS BETTER AND INTELLIGENCE, WHICH GOVERNMENT DOES NOT FEEL WE HAVE ANY OF WITHOUT THEM. It should be my decision not theirs! Watch your backs and your pocketbook. we are looking into a deep government abyss again.
