i have a passport already but i heard there are changes to the passports
is this something for people who are getting new passports or does EVERYONE need the new passports to leave the country?

NO.You do not need to get a new biometric passport until your existing one is due for renewal sojust keep using your existing one until it is due for expiry. Anyway, as serious security flaws have been found in biometric passports there is a good prospect they will be abolished, as yet another blunder by present UK government.

One other point. Be aware that because of the tightening up to prevent use of passports in identity fraud, you may find it takes a hell of a lot longer to get your new passport when you apply for it, so allow plenty of time.

it's the new passport it's biometric
only on renewal or new ones old ones are still valid don't worry

you can use you passport. so ther is no need to worry,
i got the one with the chip in it

if your in ireland the one you have at moment is fine but when you go to renew it they do something different with your photo but you just renew the way you normally would im not sure of other countries
