Thanks everyone.. The reason I wanted to do this is to email the video.
Now can it be emailed in Movie Make format or do I have to change it?

You can convert from avi to wmv (Windows media) using the Movie Maker program included with Windows XP. Changing from an avi to a wmv will also reduce the size of the file.

Windows does not have a way to convert to Real Player (rm) format, as Real Player is copyrighted by another company. You would have to purchase Real Players editing software to make that conversion.

Go to Microsoft's web site, look for the Windows Media Encoder.

When you have it installed, just tell it where the file is, what type of quality you want the new file to be in and let it do it for you.

Depending on your machine and the file size, 5 minutes later you're done and still have the original file as well.
