Nope, getting there would mean nuclear war. Muslims are not going to let the Jews upend the dome of the rock and if the Jews do try it, there is going to be hell to pay.

I really don't want to see millions of people die, just to find out if the rebuilding of the temple prophesy was literal or figurative.

What if the prophesy was referring to Christ's body, as represented by the tearing of the curtain at his death? Then all the literalists would be upset that Jesus hadn't returned yet, meanwhile millions of humans would be annihilated.
