was it a morning test? Thyroid testing should always be in the morning. If you don't already have a thyroid problem and on meds, then your doctor is questioning whether or not you are hyperthyroid. I'd advise that you also have a Free T4, Free T3, and an antibody test along with another TSH. Sometimes the TSH just isn't enough.
Please do not take anything before testing, as it may interview with your test and stop a diagnosis. Plus, kelp would be a bad idea, especially if your thyroid is overactive.

Yes! and you need to do what your doctor says. Alot of people have thyroid problems, but dont actually know they have it.
I have a hyperthyroid problem, and just recently got radioactive idodine to kill my thyroid.
Hypo thyroid is your thyroid not working hard, and where you will need assistance in a hormone medication. (harmless)
Hyper thyroid is when your thyroid over works, and you can lose weight, fast heart rate, dizzy, sweating, etc. You need to see an "Endercologist" Who specializes in thyroid problems.
I have to see my doctor every 2-3 months to get blood test done.

Yes it is common sense to retest yourself to see if the results are stil the same...I tell you a little secret. Take 4 kelp tablets daily so your iodine levels are not in the way for the test and...this might give more normal levels. I also would use natural progesterone cream Prosperin see source...for more back ground info.
