If you are mildly depressed, you should exercise..it can be one of the best ways to get your blood pumping and feeling alive. I've read that just smiling can cheer people up. I seek solitude when I am sad, some of my girlfriends like lots of company, rent chick flicks. Do something that you enjoy doing, keeping a journal is really great for this too, write about it, then when you go back and read it, you see how you overcame it. If you are severly depressed, if you feel like its out of your control, you should seek help, talking to someone can make a world of difference. Good luck.

If it is a case of minor depression...( like a pity party) remember that moods can be cyclical. You get sad, then you get happy. No sweat. But if it last a long time ( 6 weeks or more) and you have a desire to hurt yourself....look for help with a professional. It is not uncommon to be sad. It is even healthy. But when you avoid places or people, and you want to stop living because of the pain...it is time for help.

first take deep breath for 10-15 minutes,closing ur eyes.then drink fresh water.go out and watch the surrounding and variety of people going around.u will find a solution urself for the thing which depressed u.see that u get physically tired by long walks, swimming etc.you can take homeopathic medicine TRANQUIL for a month.U will be a changed person in 30 days.

get outside and go for a walk. don't let your depression keep you cooped up inside. go somewhere new and read a book. break your habits. call people who you love. volunteer in an animal shelter - its proven that petting animals lowers our blood pressure and makes us happier. if you have been depressed for a long time or are scared - talk to a counselor, help line, doctor, family member or firend and tell them what is going on. you're so not the only one who feels this way. all we can do is muscle through it and find the energy to keep moving forward. it's the only way to get to a new and better place.

3) Pray silently... thanking God that u r still alive amidst so many troubles.
4) Slowly think of solutions to overcome the situation
5) Put the best solution into practice.

Relax urself by listening to melody songs or the songs that u like most. Recall all your sweetest days with your dear ones. Read some comedies. Watch some TV programms. Draw something using colours. Try to look out the nature.

go for a walk or do some type of exercise. you could also do something u've been putting off and that will give u a feeling of accomplishment. call a freind, write in a journal, etc. Also, what really perks me up is either spending time with or watching little kids play and laugh..nothing quite like that..u have to smile..i think its a law :)

If you do any form of art (writing, painting, composing, etc.) I suggest you do that. Some of my best tracks have come from days of severe depression.

think of the days/moments u were happy.meditate/go for a long walk and see around u there are people with more miseries than u. thank god for all the good things he has given u.
