I would say about the 5th or 6th time someone answers one of my "real" questions I can tell if I would want to be around them.
How accurrate? I never met anyone from here in real life, but have talked to several from the phone,
and based on the depth of friendship I've had with them on the phone, I would say accurrate enough to where I trust my judgement.

The questions and answers people post are more important than the avatar, to me anyway. Some of the avatars do form strong associations in the mind though...
As to if whether it presents a clear picture: Well, I think people can put on a show, misrepresent themselves etc. but the real personality shines through in how you say things and react to others on the 'forum'.

I don't necessarily believe that. Anyone can "act" sweet and kind,or "act" like a jerk. But it doesn't necessarily mean that it's really how they are. This is the internet and everyone should always have their guard up,to a certain extent.Bad things happen every day to people because of their misconceptions about others on the internet.Just be very careful and you should be fine.I'm sure there are some wonderful people online. But know that there are also "wolves in sheeps clothing",as well.

I think that the answers and questions posed give a real good impression of what the person is like at that time. The avatar, not so much, I hate mine but am not smart enough to change it to something better.
But you can really tell who is bitter, upset, searching, pompous, having a great time, depressed or thoughtful by the Q&As

I think the mental image I have of the people on here may be a bit louder than what they really are, but similar...
Isn't that why we're here? To be a louder version of ourselves?

No so accurate. We can create put on a show and act how we want people to see us. But in reality we respond in different ways. There is no better way to get to know someone then to meet them, in person.

To some degree-but you cannot really base an accurate opinion of someone without knowing them.Never judge a book by it's cover

yes
i think most people are probably more open and honest on here than they would be in life
and from that i find that i do visualise the person and as you said in a more spiritual way than physical ( although that probably sounds odd to some )
and of course many avatars help

It's too early in the morning to conjure up a mental image of the What Do I Do Now Retard. I'm afraid I'd loose breakfast.

Yes, I suspect that even the people who are playing around display more of their spirits than they would like to admit.
Sometimes I wonder what people must think about me, as I seem to be so all-over-the-board on so many topics...
