Do what your dad says. You shouldn't stay home from school in the morning because you're sick and then decided go to Disneyland in the afternoon. You're just immature and lazy.

Why would you want to do that? Just stay home and rest. I know how it feels when a parent won't let you do what you want, but trust me, they have your best interests in mind. You may feel better, but you may not "be" better. If you push yourself too hard before you're fully recovered, you may get sick all over again. Plus, you may get your boyfriend sick if you go to his house and then he won't be able to see you for a while. One more night of staying home isn't going to kill you. Find something to do to keep yourself occupied. Also, it doesn't matter if you're almost 18. If you're under your dad's roof....you could be 30 and his rules still apply. Hang in there, you have plenty of time for fun. Take care of yourself.

Listen to your Dad until you leave his house, that is the respnsible thing to do and also respectful. Plus if you did have a virus you still have it and need rest even though you feel alright.
The worse that can happen? You know your Dad better than us, you should know what he will do if you go out. I say avoid the hassle and listen then run wild after you leave his house. Then he cannot say anything about you going out.

Technically, as long as you're living in his house, you have to obey his rules.

Depending on how controlling he is, if you leave anyway you can be reported as a runaway in which case the cops are called and a lot of nonsense ensues. My advice is just to stay home today but try and work out a compromise for another day.

This is where communication and negotiation skills come in. I guess if you decide to go then you have to put up with the consequences, but you know your dad better than anyone on Yahoo! and so you know what works and what doesn't.

You could always shock him and just go along with what he says without question. You would lose your plans tonight but could gain a lot of respect and trust for when similar incidents arise in the future.

How come your boyfriend cannot come see you?

If you go you are disrespecting your father. Why can't your boyfriend come to your house are you alone? If yes then it best he doesn't come over. You go to his place it could lead to other things and you know what it is, and that's why your father doesn't want you to go. You should of went to school and then you wouldn't have this problem. Do what your dad said stay home where you belong. Talk to the boyfriend on the phone on line.

ummm, well that all depends on how strict your parents are. best case scenario nothing happens. they just get irritated at you. But now lets thinbk of worst case scenario...yeah they get seriously mad and slice you into pieces while yelling that you should never disobey! So just figure where they fit in. But I'm obligated to tell you the right thing to do is stay at home. It's the only way you'll feel ok about it later. plus it'll gain trust with your parents.

Listen to your father. IF he did not care, he would let you go. Getting over a virus if not a joke and it's bad enough that he could not make you well while you were sick. just say home what harm would it do. Better to be loved then not be loved.

Oh you poor picked on child. If your dad says that you should stay in then you should.

I don't think that gay is the right word to use.

Edit***

Your description of your father does NOT sound abusive or controlling to me. Just Responsible parenting.
