Every 7-day cruise has two formal nights when its your option to dress formally, a tux for men and a long dress for women. SO take those clothes if you want to do that. Formal is optional and many people just year drerss up clothes but not formal stuff. They will be taking pictures at various locations on formal nights (and other nights too).

Take comfortable walking shoes. It you want to use the gym, take gym clothes. There are always pools and jacuzzis, some outside, some indoors, so take swim wear; two or more sets if you are going to the caribbean and will do beaches.

The dress on ships is casual, shorts, sandals, T-shirts all day until 6:00PM when they request that all guests wear "sports Casual". A good definition of sports casual is what you would wear to a business off; not coat and tie, but a shirt with a collar and long pants. You can still wear casuals stuff for the gym or the pool areas, but its sports casual for all of the public areas like dining rooms, restaurants, show rooms, and the casino.

Enjoy

Get one or two of those new XXL Ziploc bags to take home yucky, sandy clothes.

Small supply of over the counter meds: pain reliver, Tums, sunburn reliver (this is a must!), Dramamine.

Habit items: cigarettes, gum, etc. There is a gift shop on board but the prices are very high.

Make sure you have a good supply of $1, 5 and 10 in US dollars to use to pay for taxis and shopping in the open air markets.

Take or purchase a canvas bag to haul all of your goodies home in. I always end up buying t-shirts and other goodies in the open air markets and don't have room in my luggage when I return home.

Take a waterproof watch.

Also, mark your luggage with brightly colored yarn or those plastic flags from the hardware store. This will help you identify your luggage in the cruise terminal when you disembark. There is a sea of black bags to wade through!

If you take preceiption meds, take twice the amount you will need. Pack half of the meds in your luggage and the other half in your carry on.

Make sure you pack anything you will need/want or valuables before midnight in your carry on luggage. It can take many hours to get your luggage to your cabin and it sits unattended for many hours as well.

Consider a lanyard or fanny pack, small over the shoulder purse to carry the room key/charge account cards.
