Because if you put apart the fact that weapons can be used badly...
Weapons are devices of high technology in a lot of fields ... it covers a wide range of systems like Mechanical, Optical, Electronic Systems.
Firearms mechanic parts are basic, but when it's about Gatling-type rotary canon or Laser Guided Missiles, lot of work was done to elaborate such things. It requires knowledge in Physics, Mechanic, Electricity, Explosives Substances and Sciences.
You have to use all our know-how to develop weapons which attracted me.
Working in weapons engineering is a choice.

I didn't but wanted to. I was ready to interview with DARCOM I don't know what they are called now. The Department of the Army readiness and material command. My degree was in chemical engineering and they wanted me to consider the rocket fuels lab at Redstone. I wanted to work on directed energy weapons. (Death ray) that would have been fun.
