Firstly, my qualifications: I met a guy online. We were from different countries. We met twice and spent a grand total of three weeks together before I decided to uproot my life and move to him. Six months later, we were married. I am 43 years old, and have never been married - and was not desperate to do so....
Now, onto your question....
I believe that online dating opens up opportunities that would not otherwise exist. You can meet far more people - of all types, than you would if you were waiting for friends to fix you up or go to bars. You need to understand that there are alot of liars on the systems, using them to fool people. But there are also plenty of good folks with great intentions.
