6 weeks old is too early to be taking a puppy away from it's mom and littermates -- for the dog's sake, they should all stay together until the puppies are at least 8 weeks old. Be sure to socialize him with other dogs a lot so that he can still learn the fundamentals of dog communication.
Mutts are quite unpredictable in how big they are going to get. Did you see the puppy's mom? If you did, this can give you a rough idea on how big he might end up, although it's possible that the puppy's father was bigger than the mother. If he's 11 pounds at that age, he could get huge. Read the article in my source list on ways to tell how big he might get.

hi I own a shepherd and a lab, both are large breeds. you can expect your dog to get anywhere from 75-110 pounds. it really depends on the genetics. right now our lab is still a pup 4 1/2 months and is 35 pounds of bouncin' puppy.
11 pounds for a 6 1/2 week old puppy is about right. just make sure you are feeding him a high quality large breed dog food about 1/2 cup 3 times a day. the reason I suggested large breed puppy food is because you don't want your dog getting too big too fast, which can result in pano (growing pains) and can be quite painful. enjoy your new puppy!!! both breeds are fantastic! hopefully you got the best of both of them and will have an easily trainable pup.

Those are two large breeds. I've seen labs close to if not over 100lbs - and they weren't fat. They were very fit just tall and broad. Shepards - especially males can be the same depending on their bone structure.
I'd estimate between a solid 85lbs - 100lbs.
Good Luck - make sure he gets lots of training and exercise!!

I had the same breed combo and from his 8 week visit at at 12 lbs. to his 6 month visit to the vet, he had shot up to 46 lbs. He is now at about 79 lbs. and is not at all overweight.

No. Either the person you got him from lied about his age, or you have an abnormally giant puppy. Six weeks old isn't even old enough to be weaned from the mother! 11 lbs. sounds more like a 2-month-old German Shepherd.

Pretty big, since both of those breeds are rather large. Why did you get him so young?? He shouldn't even be away from his mama yet!

GERMAN SHEPERDS ARE SMALL WHEN YOUNG YET THEY DO GET PRETTY BIG WEIGHING IN NORMALLY AROUND 35-80 LBS. BUT THEY ARE GREAT GUARD DOGS, AND FAMILY FRIENDS. JUST TREAT THEM RIGHT AND THEY WILL BE GOOD.
