I have been seeing this guy for about a month and a half and he acts sweet and stuff when we are alone but when we are out with friends he is all over the place and doesn't pay me much attention. Also, he has a tendency to try and prove to his friends he is not whipped when I have never insinuated that he was. When he does this he usually says things that hurt my feelings. I am sure I need to sit down and talk to him, but I am not sure what I should say to get through to him. Any advice?

A sit down talk is a great idea. Tell him exactly what you have asked here. Tell him some of the things he says hurts your feelings. Use examples. young guys are gonna be like that to an extent, it's just part of being young. Hopefully if he really does care about you, he'll try to adjust his behaviour for you. Most of the time, a guy acts mean to show off to his friends how in control he is. If you really are into the guy and want to keep him around, humor him by showing him you need him. That will give him the control feeling he needs and perhaps he won't need to show off so much for his friends.

maybe he want to feel that he is strong and don't care to other feelings in front of there friends... sorry but it's not the love, the love is treat u like u are alone with him the same he act with u with his friends.. tell him freely what is make u sad and hurt u.. because most of the time the guys are stupid don't know what they doing, so open your heart and see what he will say.. listen to him let he listen to u.. and tell him why u doing this silly things u just hurt my feelings... u will do great..don't ever feel shy to tell the person that u hurt me..u are brave and stronger than him... good luck

This is a simple one-- Just sit him down when you two are alone and tell him that it hurts you when he says such things when he is with his friends. If he really does care about you, any guy in his right mind would gladly comply. If he jokes about it to you, you know that he is never going to take a relationship with you seriously.

It seems to me that he is afraid to show his sofer side whenever he's around his friend. You need to have a chat with and tell this ASSHOLE that you are hurt. My God some guys are immatures.. If he don't want to listen to you, then leave him and stop stressing your self. Its not the end of the world you know. There are more fish in the sea.

Its part of being a youth, some grow up some don't .He is trying to be macho what he hasn't learned showing that he respects you would make him look better than putting you down. Find someone older that has more than one use for you.

He sounds very immature. You probably won't be able to get through until he grows up a bit.

And don't generalize. Women can be mean, too.
