I trained under an instructor who is certified in JKD concepts under Dan Inosanto, Inosanto was Bruce's top student and has carried the JKD system since Bruce's death. With that said, Inosanto was asked if Bruce would compete in the UFC and he said probably not since eye jabs and groin kicks are illegal. Keep in mind I am a third party in the conversation and was not actually there. However, in my opinion Bruce would have done well. Here's why: he never backed down from an open challenge while filming, he found the weaknesses of every martial art form and made a way to beat even the best masters, he was obsessed with martial arts. He was a pioneer at the time, he had the talent to take what was available at the time and beat it. Just like the Gracies did, just like Tyson did with boxing(glory days of course). I think he would do well.

No. Think about this, what would happen if you throw Chuck Norris, Wallace "Superfoot" bill, and other great martial arts of their day in with K-1 guys or MMA guy?
They may will do okay and even score a win or two against lower level opponent but they'll lose more than win.
Why? because their techniques are outdated. Like as with everythings, martial arts change over time.
Look at some of world's most feared soldiers such as Spartan and Rome legions. People use to think they're undefetable, but now do you really think we would have trouble defeating bunches of Spartan or legions with all of our weapons?
Same can be say for martial arts.
Martial arts have made WAYmore changes in last 15 years than all other centuries put together. You can clearly tell by compare first 5 UFC with most recent Pride and UFC fights.

He wouldn't be unbeatable; no one is. He would be very very good however, at least in his weight division. Bruce Lee is very adaptive. His first style was Wing Chun, but don't let that fool you. Bruce Lee learned as much as he could of all martial arts - that includes grappling. Another aspect is that he's probably twice as fast as any UFC fighter - and I am not kidding. He is so fast that people he asked to hold his kicking shield (he carried it around with him everywhere - he liked to show demonstrations) often got whiplash and major injuries, just by holding a kicking shield. Imagine what damage that would do to an unprotected hand, arm, or rib. Anything that gets in the way of his kick would be broken. As for his punch, it's as lethal as his kick. In terms of a off the ground fight, Bruce Lee might of beaten many of the UFC fighters. When it gets to ground fighting however, that is different. Don't get me wrong - Bruce Lee was an amazing grappler. He was good at every aspect of fighting and he neglected none. However, he has a major weight disadvantage. On the other hand however, Bruce Lee is stronger than any of those UFC fighters pound for pound. Some have even gone as far as to say that he may well of been the strongest man in the world pound for pound. So he would be comparable in strength to UFC fighters much bigger than him. In my personally opinion I do not think Bruce Lee would be the all time greatest UFC fighter ever - but he would be a force to reckon with. (And would definatly be unbeatable in his weight class).

Maybe if they did a movie about the UFC and all he had to do was remember his lines and throw some flashy kicks. He was great but the best UFC fighters are well rounded and would probably not pay attention when the director yelled CUT.

I think so, he has superior speed and power. I've seen these UFC fighters and they don't have the speed of Bruce Lee. Bruce would end these fights earlier. However, put him in the ring with real underground Kumate fighters (anything goes fights) he would lose. Plus, I think Bill Wallace would have beaten him.

not sure you can answer that.
I do think he'd probably be better suited for Pride since they aren't as much of a ground fighting "league".
Since UFC does alot of ground grappling which Bruce Lee isn't used to, it'd make it much harder for him. Maybe he'll never get taken down and just strike everyone out, but Pride is more of a standup striker fighting arena.

He would have little chance. The movies make 1 punch wack outs semms easy, go to bullshido.com look at videos, then street fights. Grapplers will take you down and punish you if you lack good ground skills. By Bruce's early 30's he has already established his base and style as a form of stand up game with a small amount of ground game he read about never studied.

I'm gonna guess that Bruce would've understood the importance of the ground grapple. He was a pretty adaptive person, and was extremely inventive. The only problem would be his weight on the ground, but he'd probably have figured a better ground strategy based on his own strengths and weaknesses.

Im going for best answer here: Yeah, he would give Chuck Liddel a one inch punch and knock him out cold. Nobody, not even Crocop, could hang with him.
the truth: most of the UFC fighters would tie a knot in his 135 pound body and flush his *ss down the toilet.

I personally think he would have had his *** handed to him. I get so sick and tired of everyone making him out to be this invincible killing machine. He never fought in anything competitive.... there is no video footage of him fighting anyone other than on a movie which is scripted.... do I think he was amazing... YES!!! is he the end all of martial arts.... NO!
