I think that IRL racing now is more exciting than NASCAR because of the open wheel to wheel racing, side by side, lap after lap at 200 MPH and faster. To bad they can't get a bigger car count tho.

I have attended both NASCAR and IRL races at Joliet. The IRL race had me standing the last ten laps. Sam Hornish won and he was in fourth place entering turn three on the last lap. They finished three wide and the track didn't announce who won until five minutes after the race. The NASCAR race didn't offer much passing and came down to fuel mileage. So at Joliet IRL is a better show. That said, the drama of Daytona, Talledega, Richmond and Bristol is impossible to miss. IRL is close but it's not there yet.

Open wheel racing will be more exciting than Nascar the day the 2 idiots finally reunite Champ car and IRL. The old CART series used to be the best racing out there.

Not me. NASCAR is as much about the drivers as it is about the racing and a lot of people relate to NASCAR drivers and the racing style because most of them seem to be pretty "regular guys" and the cars are more like cars you'd see on the road than open wheel cars are. Plus, there are more races, so it's easier to keep people's attention. Greater speed doesn't necessarily equate to being more interesting. If it did, we'd be watching drag races in the Bonneville salt flats every week.

I don't. IRL is as exciting as F1. The cars can't bump or touch or they start to fall apart and are then non-competitive. I think F1 had 6 lead-lap changes all season. I went to the first IRL race at Watkins Glen and what a yawner. Bicycles would have been more exciting.

Indy racing is a growing sport. I think here in the near future there will be just as many cars as NASCAR. Going 200+ is as exciting as it gets!!! The cars get up to speed so quick it's crazy!! I really think that IRL (Indy Racing League) is alot more fun to watch than NASCAR, too!!!

Formula 1 is more exciting than both of these. Plus it's a worldwide sport, while Nascar and IRL rarely leave the US. Technology-wise, American motorsport is ****** compared to F1. But I agree with you, open-wheeled racing is the best form of motorsport on a track.

It is great racing but they need more cars to be better than Nascar. They need to put Cart out of its misery and take their teams into the IRL.

Yes, go back to one series...CART was great. I'm not a huge fan of the ovals, but the road racing is intense.

F1 still blows all other racing away in my opinion.
