When you are younger, a large age difference can hurt a relationship. That's because you are at two different points in your lives. One person might have a solid job, a house, and is ready for a long term relationship, and the other person might be still in college, living at their parents house, and not exactly sure of what they want to do with their life once they graduate. It really depends on the maturity level of the two people involved. When people are past their school years and have settled into life a bit, the age difference usually doesn't have much of an effect on the relationship. Love doesn't look at a number, it looks at your heart.

I have always felt the man being older is not a big deal, but the other way around, I can't get into it. I was 26 and dated a guy who was 19 once. He looked young but he acted mature. I just had to let it go because I felt bad about it.
