Sometimes. Sometimes I prefer to add "add details" instead of putting a description, if the "details" aren't directly related to the question.

I sometimes get frustrated with some of the canned responses that don't even consider the content of the question. These typically come from religions folks who write a verse, or repeat a mantra like, "God Said it, I believe it, case closed."
In cases like that I do add details, usually to try and explain that the answers are thoughtless. It is more of a way for me to let off steam, it gets really irritating, reading responses from people who are unable to think through a question.

Other than that I only add details when asked.

I will only do so if it is obvious that the answerers are as a group failing to understand my meaning. If such is the case though, I'll often delete the question, reword, and reask.

I sometimes do. I add details because I want people to give detailed answers to my questions. I don't like just plain "yes" or "no" answers so I try to encourage people to answer me specifically if they seem to be leaning toward short or uninformative answers.
