In Mark: chap 5: 1-18 it speaks of a man possesed by Legion (many spirits) that could not be bound he screamed and tore his clothes off and CUT himself all over..Is this the same spirit that makes people cut themselves no a days?? I say it is, some disagree. I hear on documents on TV about this and it is HORRIBLE!! A friend I have has a cousin (a grown man who did this for a while)..said he did not know how to calm himself otherwise and is now on medication. Serious answers only please. I read this morning about this in my bible lesson I read everyday when I get up and have coffie.

Yes - the unclean spirit in Mark 5 is the same evil or familiar spirit in the world today. These demon spirits are increasing, because too many people dabble in witchcraft, horoscopes, tarot cards, angel worship and satanic worship.
Our world is summoning this evil and they don't even know what they are doing. We have let abortion increase. We have let homosexuality increase. WHAT WE PERMIT - INCREASES.
Our government is teaching the people to tolerate everything and this is what you get. The Harry Potter books of witchcraft have a big influence upon our children as does Evil Rock Music. These writers are not Christian and they spread their spirit of antichrist to our children. Satan wants our children. If Satan can get our children then he can have his one world order.

Maybe Mark was trying to show what demon possession can do, as opposed to medical causes, which in many cases may be just stress. There was more than one thing wrong with the man, than just stress.

Not only in Mark, Sunshine. 1st Kings18:21-40 describes similar actions. A demon spirit may well be the cause.

cutting yourself is just a masochistic way of dealing with stress, you like how you feel for some crazy reason and it helps you deal with life. its the same thing as someone turning to marijuana or cocaine. they are all stupid because its a cheap *** way to get out of actually facing life's problems and having hardships.

I believe you. Sometimes it is demonic and sometimes it isn't. I know a pastor who ministers to "cutters", the kids who cut themselves. Most do it because they're crying out for love and affection.
