I also live in Michigan, I don't know where you are but we have major snow and cold in my area. I would definitely wait until spring! But as for cost it depends on where ya go, and no it won't take long if it is small, but follow their directions very close so all goes well. Good luck

Foot tattoos are not the best idea in the winter. They are an even worse idea right before a vacation. Many reputable shops will recommend that you do not wear a shoe that will rub your tattoo for at least 3 weeks after getting it. The skin on the top of the foot is very delicate and the friction of your shoes on a new tattoo can ruin it if it is not allowed to heal properly. In addition to rubbing from shoes being an issue, foot tattoos tend to swell the first couple of days they are healing. They will swell more when you are on your feet for an extended period of time, such as stomping around The Strip or wandering around in casinos and shopping. This swelling is uncomfortable and can affect your tattoo if it gets aggravated enough. Taking care of a new tattoo takes about a week of careful attention. You would still have to be cleaning your tattoo twice a day, applying whatever aftercare product you are using, and being careful not to rub, bump, scratch, or irritate it. That is a lot of work while you're trying to relax on a fun vacation. Your tattoo is going to be there forever. I would wait until you have the time to care for it properly and can wear shoes that will keep it looking its best.

That is something that we cannot determine. Every shop is different when it comes to cost. A few shops close to me have a minimum price of $50 for any tattoo. But, there are other shops that charge a minimum of $20, some even $200. You never know. Your best bet is to go searching around shops in your area.
I would also suggest waiting until the weather is nice to get a tattoo on your foot, as you will want to keep shoes off of your feet as much as possible.. the rubbing and constant movement of your foot can cause the tattoo to fade rather quickly.

Most shops have a shop minimum that can vary anywhere from $30-$60 depending on the shop. But choose your artist based on quality not pricing.
The aftercare of a foot tattoo during winter is very strict. After the tattoo is done you are going to wanna keep shoes, and if possible, socks off the foot for at least 2-3 hrs. For the first two weeks stay away from colored socks. The dyes in socks can affect the coloring of your tattoo. Your socks must be clean. If you are not sure if they are clean enough remove the socks, wash off your tattoo, and replace them. Stay away from any shoes that are tight on the foot that may rub on your tattoo during the healing process. This all will prevent distortion of the tattoo as well as infection. When indoors during the first two weeks remove the shoes and socks as much as possible. Your skin needs to be aired out as much as possible to better help the healing process. Getting an infection on a foot tattoo is common if not taken care of properly. If you have questions about infection see your local tattoo artist or consult your family doctor.

make sure you shop around before you go and get it....because it is on your foot, and will probably be covered (because it is winter) the chances of infection are a little higher. I have one on my foot...a big one, and i got it in the summer so i could wear flip flops or go bare foot. Go to a few different places, and don't let cost be the deciding factor, make sure the artist is clean. Also, ask about fading....some places will guarantee their work...(foot tats fade often)

i don't know how much it will cost but do know that when you get a tattoo on your foot you are supposed to NOT wear shoes on it for two weeks. it has to completely heal or your socks and shoes will rub and mess it up! i got a tattoo on my foot in december and i had to wear flip flops for two whole weeks so just go into it knowing that you will have to go shoeless in the winter. you may want to wait until spring.

Find an artist you like and trust *not only personality, check his portfolio for HEALED tattoos that he's done* and pay what they ask. Better pay $100 for a tattoo that turns out great than $50 for one that leaves you with a bad tat and hepatitus.
