yes I would, first time to England alone last year went to Brighton too but did not stay there too long as I wanted to explore more places, its a pretty laid back place there as its near the sea would be good if you go during the summers around Jun now its freezing everywhere.
Don't be afraid you will meet some friends soon enough especially if you stay in backpackers place, hope this helps cheers

I have thought for some time that a brief life in the U K would be a true adventure for me !! Couldn't see life for the long haul any other place than Texas though !!
I know all of the "things" that people say are SOOO incapatable with the traditional American "expectation" thing---but I know that none of that would get in MY way there---- I DO have a very high regard for the English---even the lunatics that Love to Kick the U S A have a certain comical value to me--- and in a Very Brief Visit a number of years ago while in the military--- I was just fasinated with the people and the culture---Think that six or eight months would do it for me--- leave a little of my money there and take a lot of memories---that would be the ticket !!!

I'm living in England at present and have been for the last 12 months i moved over for a working holiday and will be here for another 12 months at least, i came over with a friend but that didn't last long but i made friends easy and I'm doing fine got a job and earn enough to go travelling in my spare time i would have regretted it if i didn't come. There have been a number of times when i could have just gone home but i saved way to much money to get over here and im going to make the most of it.

Brighton, eh? England may be little, but it ain't all the same.
Brighton is kind of like a cold San Fransisco with less architecture.
England is overpriced. It's depressing. It's drunken melancholy. But it feels safer than some other places.
However, I wouldn't like to live there. In Wales, most of the yobs are English. Maybe they get kicked out and that's why they come here, but English kids seem soooo spoilt.
However, the Northwest is nice...

Brighton is lovely, you should meet lots of new friends there, if I could choose anywhere to live in England it would be either Cornwall or Devon, both are very beautiful quaint places with lovely people, good luck for you time in England and hope you enjoy your time here.

Personally, I'd love to live in England. Lots of history, culture, soccer (football), a sense of humor ... what's not to like? Go with an open mind. Make a friend or two. You'll love it.
