Ladies, I believe the "friend zone" is a womans excuse to not hurt a mans feelings. I think that if a woman is friends with a man and finds him attractive she would go out with him foresure. But woman say "i just want to be friends" or "I dont want to ruin the friendship" because they don't find the male friend sexually attractive. I have had 2 girlfriends that where my friends first. Is this true ladies, is the friend zone just an easy excuse to not hurt a man's pride?? Cause why wouldn't you want to be with a man that you are good friends with?? Thanks!

Oh no buddy, the friend zone is totally real. I was good friends with a guy while i was in another relationship. When that relationship ended my friend started to come on to me. He was very attractive and i even went for it. The thing was he was such a good friend and us dating was all wrong. It lasted for about a week and then i ended it. He understood because he felt the same way. He just fell into that friend zone, i knew way too much about him before getting involved with him and he just ended up getting on my nerves! Oh yeah, the friend zone is real. Not saying it is not used as an excuse sometimes though, but it does really happen.

I think that's kind of a hard question. Yes, for the most part, a girl would probably try to save the guy's pride by telling him she wants to be friends instead. And yes, it's probably because she doesn't find him attractive either physically or mentally. However, I don't believe it's an intentional thing either. And I'm sure it's not always the case, sometimes the girl may just think of you as a friend or may be preoccupied with someone else.

Its not an excuse.I have a couple of make friends that I do think are very attractive but I wouldn't be interested in anything more than frienship. Do you have any ladie friends that are attractive but you wouldn't do more than a friendship? There could be other reasons, maybe she doesn't want a relationship, maybe there is something about you that doesn't suit what she thinks is ideal for her. Could be many reasons. We like to hang out with guy friends and to keep it that way. Its not an excuse!

Those two lines are not necessarily an excuse. personally speaking, when i have said them i've meant it. although i have never liked a guy friend that way, (i have a lot of guy friends) and i mean NEVER. i know how to separate friendship from the other stuff. so why wouldnt i want to be more than friends with a guy that i only see as a friend? while its true that a great place to start would be from friendship, you need more than just that to build that other kind of relationship.

yes its true that sometimes girls just say that to not hurt guys feelings, especially if they're not really friends to begin with, but its not really that far from the truth.

I think for most of us looks are important at first. But if you start out as friends and the girl gets to know you sometimes you get more attractive to them I know that has happen to lots of women a man they never would have saw them self's with all of a sudden they see as being the person they want to be with forever. Because they are attracted to the whole person. Hope that made since.

Could be. It really depends on the situation. I had a Friend that I was attracted to, but I chose not to pursue it because I simply didn't want to ruin the friendship... I knew him well enough to know it wouldn't ever work.. plus, I'm not his type. Accept the friendship. If its going to go beyond that it will on it's own, just be a good Friend.

False. She can be your friend, she can find you attractive, and she can still not be interested in you romantically. The problem for the friendship, however, is that romantic involvments often end them (jealous partners who can't be friends with the opposite sex will see to it, and there's nothing you can or want to do about it since you want your friend to be happy).

There's a lot of letting go of attatchments that happens in our lives. Even if you marry for life, one of you will die, and if you have kids, they will leave home or might die.

The sooner you come to grips with this, the better. People who cannot be friends with the opposite sex without sexual tension either cannot let go of attatchments or have poor impulse control.

maybe you are coming out of a bad relationship and aren't ready for a new one. Maybe you truly do value the friendship and are afraid that by pursuing a more romantic relationship you will destroy it, perhaps you love the person, but like a brother and couldn't see yourself romantically invovled....girls aren't that complicated. Don't try to read between the lines, when a girl says she just wants to be friends, thats probably all she wants.

Well, I have a couple of male friends that had we not been friends first I would have dated. But, I would hate to loose them as a friend if a relationship did not work and I know after you've crossed the line you can't go back.

In my book, there is definatley a friend zone. The friend zone is for nice guys that i love having a good time with, but just couldn't see myself kissing or having sex with. The friend zone is really a zone for friends. It's not a zone for guys that you have to reject.
